Last weekend's tournament

Hey all - I got some good photos this weekend of all of our girls. My goal will be to burn the pics I have onto discs and bring them to the Tiffany Springs tournament. I was really proud of how our girls played this weekend. It's amazing how far they have all come since March!
-Sarah (aka Mary Kate's Mom)

Doesn't she make pitching look easy? Trust me - it's not!

I love this shot of "K" laying down a bunt! Awesome!!!

MK's pitching coach will be happy to see that she is "getting sideways" at the right time. That's something she's been working on all year, opening up the hips to 3rd base while bringing her arm up. At the end, she is supposed to snap her hips toward the catcher.

And then there is the follow through...which she is doing here. Again - something she's really had to work on. I don't think this is natural to want to do...it seems like what "feels right" is to let go of the ball and stop but you're supposed to "follow through" bringing your arm up almost to your face/chest.

What's Next?/The Week Ahead

OK Guys, my next goal is to get us set to go to the State tourney in Chanute. I will work on that this week, because I'm not clear on the procedure for getting Kati and Mary Kate on our official roster, and I am not getting clear answers yet. I will keep you advised.

Between the league team and the weekend tournament coming up in 2 weeks, we will play a lot of games over the next 3 weeks, so please be sure the kids are getting plenty of rest.

Our League team opens up next Wednesday with a double header. We will have opening ceremonies, and then play 2 @ Lou Baehr.

We have had a new player added to our league team, and we also have had an existing player on our roster who apparently has been sick, and is now ready to join us. So we'll see what happens!

Next Weekend's Tournament

The next tournament will be next weekend in Belton, Missouri. It is a C tournament, so I'm curious to see the level of competition we will face.

The games will be played @ Markey Park. Here is how I would go: If you take 68 Hiway E. and just go through Louisburg and continue East, you will come to D Hiway: Take it North to 58 Hi-way. It is a 4-way stop and there is a BBQ place on the corner.

Take a right and go east. As you go into Belton, there is a series of round-a-bouts that you go through. About the 3rd one is Westover Rd. Go north to Markey Road and take a left and go W. to the complex.

It sounds complicated, but is only 25 or 30 minutes from my home, so no worries mate!!

Schedule will be ready Wed. by noon.

Nice Job Everyone

I was very proud of our team this weekend. Our pitching and defense was pretty good most of the time, and in the Sunday game it was excellent. Our bunt defense and our pitching was beyond any expectations I had for this young team.

We will keep working hard and getting better.

VIP Series – ASA
Blue Valley Recreational Complex – Overland Park, KS
4-Game Guarantee
“The VIP Series is a series of 4 tournaments and the VIP Fall Classics is a series of 4 tournaments and are designed for “participation” or “recreation” teams. A participation/recreation team is defined as any team who participates in an ASA sanctioned league in the Kansas City Area whose activities is limited to their league. These teams do not participate in tournaments outside of their league association. Teams outside the KC Metro area will be considered upon proof of their being a recreational team.
Our goal is to provide a softball tournament series for the non-competitive teams to participate against other non-competitive teams. Participation/recreational teams now have a tournament to compete in without having to compete against “A” or “B” tournament teams. While nurturing an environment of fun, it also gives an overall tournament experience to the players. Our priority is to provide a fun and lasting experience for the recreational softball player.
It is our intention to spread the tournaments around the Kansas City Metro area when complexes are available. This will give all teams an opportunity to have a tournament at least near by. An attempt will be made to host half of the tournaments in Missouri and half of the tournaments in Kansas for the VIP Series, July 4th and Fall Classics.
The format is a 4 game guarantee. Three “pool” games will be played on Friday and/or Saturday. Sunday will start a single elimination bracket. There will not be Friday night games unless warranted by the number of teams entered. There will be a daily gate fee. Welcome everyone.

Hey gang,

I will try to keep this site updated with current information. The Eteamz site I have used for years recently merged with another company, and it is almost unusable now.

Our 16U team has used this site for our stuff, and it has worked out well. Feel free to poke around and have fun on here. If someone would like to help manage this thing and make it as useful as possible, please let me know.
